We all know that emails are now become vital part of everyone’s life. No matter what kind of people whether professional or non professional but they need to have an email account. Talking about Indian government employees then also emails are one of the most important parts of their work. The most interesting thing about Indian government employees is that they are still using free emailing services in India for sending and receiving of confidential data. Think yourself is that fair.. !! According to the report it has been confirmed that around 199 Indian government’s official site has been hacked last year. So how can one expect that the free email services are secure for confidential data transferring?
Recently a news was revealed telling about district official who use to send crop data by popular email service to an agriculture official. The data is sensitive because it can bring movement in global markets. This kind of activity is also performed by top level government officers like recently a staff of Manmohan singh used hotmail for issuing of statement related to recent Mumbai bomb attack. The detail of fighter jet plane is sent to media for press release via non official email ID.
But a directive has been issued by Indian government that all government employees need to have an official email id if they need to send emails related to government.
